A frame - car insurance

Hi, a newbie here, does having an A frame fitted compromise your car insurance

Not with ours but it depends on the insurance company, call and ask.

When I advised the motorhome insurance they said it will only be covered 3rd party when towing.
Not spoken to the car insurance yet.

Third party damage to the toad if an accident occurred but you may be able to claim via the cars insurance, both would have insurance.

Just spoke to the car insurance & they stated it will be covered by motorhome insurance.
Hope that covers that confusion

Normally towed cars are with the Motorhome insurance under a 3rd party set up...some may differ. Not all though

Most like cover as a trailer, which it is according to DVLA, under your motorhome insurance. 3rd party damage only.

My car insurance is affected, as I have to declare I have metalwork sticking out of the front of the car and classed as modified. Mine is an older style of a frame. Plenty of toad owners say their insurance is not affected due to they have removable I bolts to tow from and are classed as non modified by insurers, despite the crash bar being replaced. Really depends on each insurance company.

Normally they insist on them being removed as it is against the c&u to have projections that endanger pedestrians?
