Yesterday we had a fab vegan lunch with our daughter at the Dreamy Goat in Inverurie and then headed down to St Andrews to see our son who’s a fresher there.
We had a fabulous Indian at Jahangirs then our son took us on a night time trail if some of the beautiful spots in the town. Today is the start of Raisin weekend when academic ‘parents’ (3rd years) set challenges for and entertain their Fresher ‘children’. The alarm bells should have rung when my son said he had to ring his academic dad’s doorbell at 5:46:46 am. So our night at The Shore was peaceful until 3:30am when the revelries began with academic families going for a high spirited morning swim.
At 9:30am there was a loud banging on our van door which we opened to find my son and his quite charming academic father there wanting to say good morning. The revelries finish tomorrow with a giant shaving foam party.
What really struck me was how all the kids were so polite wishing us good morning as they walked past us having breakfast in the van.
