A pal has a carp fishing lake near Evesham. He has fish taken on a regular basis as the Polish seasonal workers eat them. Some of the bigger fish can be very expensive. The lake is now fenced off with a full time bailiff trying to stop the theft..

All the ducks morehens muscoveys and Simon have long been thieved. Mmmmmmm

I started fresh water fishing again a few years back and thought I would visit Chichester Canal as I use to fish it a lot when I was 14 up until I gave up about 10 years later and having had some good days catching
Went to the local tackle shop for a permit and the chap said don’t bother no decent fish left as they had all been taken!
There is a large community of Polish in the area now, coincident?

If one has a permit to fish and one catches one or more is it illegal to take it away and eat it? I am asking regardless of what British anglers think is 'etiquette'

Maybe it is against rules of permits on private fisheries, but on a public river or canal?

Picked up this morning during a half hour walk to coffee and back.
A Twitter about Litter.

If you see litter,
please don't titter or witter.
Don't be a bitter litter quitter.
Get fitter, and pick up the litter.
That's enough of my litter squitter.
