although well pleased with my hymer A class , but have just found a snag

when in Albir near benidorm some idiot decided to have a bit of fun and broke the drivers door window , toughened glass of course

so , off to a couple of autoglass specialists , same response , no idea if and when they could get one , so thanks but no thanks ...go to the hymer agent

so off to the hymer agent near murcia , most pleasant and helpful but...... don't stock such things , wouldn't be economic , would have to get the importer in barcelona to order it , then forward it ; normally a minimum of a month , could be two ! they admired the temporary plastic window that autoglass made and installed for me for €30 , but as I don't intend to be be in the area for that long suggested I just rename the vehicle las brisas and carry on as I am

is this situation normal throughout europe [ except germany I presume ] ?
any suggestions ...not buy to one with a van cab please !

Can't remember ;)
Hi lebesset if it is a completely flat widow you could go to a double glazing unit maker and get them to cut a template and send it off to the tougheners who will be able to do that with-in a week or so turn around :thumb::thumb: Failing that get them to cut a piece of laminated glass.

Too many to mention
My temporary perspex window from auto glass at only 20 quid was in my old classic car for 3 months while I tried to track down a replacement. Eventualy had one made up by a glass co, but it was expensive due to shape and slight curve. I spent a fortune on gas, running about looking for the replacment too. It might pay off to get one made before you end up broke and frustrated. custom widow cost; 130 quid. Running around cost more!

Its teh same in the UK. We have had this twice with our Knaus and both times its been tempory window whilst autoglass ordered the correct part. We tried for a laminated replacement but they said no even thought he manufacturer makes one...the manufacturer is not knaus but they would not supply direct to me.
