A class condensation

It works well enough but not as well as Silver Screens. In very cold weather when cooking using outside screens stops it completely whereas it will still happen with the blinds.

To stop condensation you need to keep the internal glass temperature the same or close to the air temp inside, so no the normal "concertina" blinds won't do it and the external screens usually do. Some say internal screens also work but haven't tried that.

Interestingly I've just had a Maxxair vent unit fitted - it can be used as an extractor as well as pulling fresh air in. We were cooking the other day and the screen started to mist up, switched the Maxxair to extract on a reasonably high setting and the misting disappeared. Obviously it pulled all the damp air out. Well pleased with the unit - it replaced the aircon unit which we hardly ever used ( and actually cost me nothing because I sold the aircon unit for the same price!)

This is the view out my A class for next 3 days, and guess what? The screen ISNT going on😉👍

When we had a A Class , we tended to use a silver screen when the temperature dropped, this stopped condensation, whereas the internal screen didn't.

We did have an Alde option that blew warm air via the cab front vents and radiators up between our internal screens and the windscreen this also stopped condensation without using the external screens, but we slept in the drop down bed and although very quiet and a steady noise it still disturbed getting to sleep.

Is the maxxair quiet we have a fiamma turbo vent which works well keeping us cool enough to sleep in 35* but a little noisy .

Neil, I never even knew that was a feature/option. 😎

As we've only just fitted it haven't really had much time to evaluate but up to now when on extract it's virtually unnoticeable up to 50%. This setting has been enough to clear windscreen condensation (low-profile coachbuilt), extract cooking smells and on a couple of occasions when the van has got a bit too warm provided a nice cool breeze when coupled with an opened vent. At full power it obviously creates a wind noise and I wouldn't be trying to sleep with it at that setting but so far we're well pleased with it. A distinct advantage over other fan units I've looked at is that you can run it with the top closed so that it can be used whilst it's raining or when you're driving along. In fact even when "open" it doesn't seem to let rain in.

We went for the smoked lid which allows for a reasonable amount of light, the clear would probably let in more. We also had the optional blind with built in leds to provide nightime illumination. Not too impressed with the blind locking mechanism, just a couple of clips which, knowing my luck, I'm sure to damage in the not too distant future.

Does the internal concertina blind on an A class stop condensation or do you still need a silverscreen ?
If you have heater vents between the screen & blind it will be OK 90% of the time without external screens.
We have the vents and a aluminium insulated blind we don't bother with external screens.
