A cheap and easy black tank cleaner

In looking for a better black tank cleaner, I came across this.

Can you get access into your tank Jon, just wondered what it looked like inside if you could see you could stick your phone in for a look around but mind you dont drop it. Ours has a factory fitted spray system in both black and grey tanks.

Only down the toilet hole Martin.

I do have an endoscope, but I'm pretty confident that I will see a build up of excrement . You only have to look at the inside of a toilet cassette to see that no matter how vigorously you dowse and shake it you still get a build up.

I doubt if a simple fairly low pressure water jet will do anything now though, fill it with coke.

I reckon a directable jet would be quite effective as you could actually hold it still, let it soak and then turn it through a few degrees and repeat. I'm also thinking of experimenting with different depths of cuts and putting an insert in the end so I can jack the pressure up.

Yes after a physical clean up,though l backwash mine regularly the Excrement breaks down and causes almost a silt like substance that builds up and needs a good scraping to get it moving followed up by a good flush and then Coke.

l get a weird satisfaction of knowing my Black Tanks is really really clean.

You must have better tank access than we have, I use ammovit in every tank and the spray system when we dump at home and then cross my fingers and hope that it's clean.

It doesnt smell, dissolves a lot better and its easier because theres no mixing. I have no way of knowing whether its better for the tank or not.

Good luck with it, Ive just ordered 2 bags for us when we get back next weekend.

Just don't be a dummy like me with the instructions and put the whole bag in and wondered why it didnt dissolve

I don't really think about the inside of it.
I just double up the green Elsan jollop every time. It gets a big rinse out after every trip, but I don't go rummaging around inside.

Are you still using this product? Happy with it? So one tablet in each tank with a bit of water when empty? jongood does it really break down all the toilet paper too, just normal standard paper, not the specialist stuff?

I am aware this is an old thread as l posted some months ago, just to say in respect of access l presume you have a gauge that tells you the level of the contents? This is how l access the tank to give it a good scrape before flushing with Coke. I would be very surprised if you cannot find access to the sender unit as they are not reliable and need regular cleaning.

We have external sonar tank sensors so no need to be inside for maintenance therefore Morelo don't build in any access hatches as standard, you can spec it as an option but I don't think many do.

Lidl / aldi cola might be more cost effective

We got a massive supply of Thetford paper with ours, still not got to the bottom of it (ho ho) 2 years and well over 200 nights later.

But the only issue we've had with it was in really extreme circumstances.

Btw I believe you need to change your tag line , I would say I can't wait to see it but I've seen it many times over the years.
