Daughter & Son in Law have the use of a 2003 Hymer Swing. Obviously I am tasked with sorting out all the bits that don't work.
But a strange thing; it has a centre dinnette which makes up into a double, however, when the bed is made up the bathroom door can only be opened about 6" (150mm). What is that all about?

Is there a drop down bed ?
Probably few use the dinette as a double bed, but it does sound like a bad design.
Assuming the all krypton factor bits have been put together correctly to make up the dinette bed

There are two slide outs on twin rails, just deploying those prevents the door opening, without completing the bed jigsaw. It does have an overcab double, but it is a four berth with four original seat belts. I have looked and looked, but it defies all logic. Might expect this on a budget motor but surely not a Hymer.

As a Hymer owner, I'd agree, it sounds odd.

The layouts, which up until about 20 years ago were all personally overseen by Erwin Hymer himself, were fine tuned from model to model.
You can still see todays 'new' layouts are remarkably similar to the layouts of 20, 30, 40 years ago.

Therefore I'd be thinking that either the door or the bed (or the table ?) has been 'improved' by a previous owner, or you have not put the bed together correctly.

On FB there is a very active Hymer Owners group with over 10,000 members.
Join up and post the question, There will be members with the same model and age who can tell you how it should be done (or tell you it's a well known design fault!)

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Everything looks to be original. The door could not have been hung the other way. The table does not create an issue. It is obvious as soon as the pull out rails are deployed, that the door opening is restricted. I will make a point of researching it further. The FB group appears to be a good place to start.
