Thought it was a reasonable bid myself with a considerable number of bids below not devious at all, who did I need to show my hand to btw

Right next door is SoS c&mc site - if you get a pitch directly in line with the reception and new toilet block you should back on to Jasmin and can hop over the fence! Next door to that is Poplar Farm Cottages and Camp site.
Congratulations to everyone that took part in the true spirit of the auction to raise funds for a good cause hope you have a great time.
Beware of duplicitous pirates though as CutThroatJake may not be the only one there.

Thanks for your efforts Kannon Fodda. It undoubtably raised a little more in that last hour for a very worthy cause. Fingers crossed I may have changed medication by then as its been no alcohol (or caffeine) since last July, and of course had the wonder jabs. Just awaiting official confirmations before donation is made.

Normally one cannot edit posts after about an hour after the original post. How were these posts edited so much later?

The Xmas Auctions are currently in a different section of the forum. Each forum area can have it's own sets of
permissions for who can view, post and edit.

Like others, I wasn't looking at older posts for revisions, even Dabhand's first posting suggesting preference to Jim's listing didn't clue me in on what had happened, I kept re-reading the first couple of Jim's posts to try and see what was what, getting more confused as it was definitely 18 pitches available. Only when I re-read the entire thread, did I realise the little trick. The time stamps on the edits show they were made before the 8:00pm cutoff. I would expect them to be legit (Jim must be the arbiter).

Well that was great Fun and a fantastic amount raised. We will resemble a French Aire in August but it we should squeeze 21 of you on, so every one who bid £100 or over has a place.
