6kg propane gas bottle (1 Viewer)

Hi,hope all are well.
I have a just swapped a 6 kg propane bottle. The tare weight on the metal collar is 16.12 which equals 7.5 kg. The toat weight with 6 kg of gas should be 13 .5kg, the actual weight on digital scales is 14.7kg which would suggest there is 7.2kg of gas in the bottle. I have checked my scales against a known weight and they are spot on. Any body else come across this. TIA.

I have had it the other way, supplier was gobsmaked when I pulled my hand scales out and rejected 2 bottles before the 3rd one being correct

Ever since lighting was by Calor gas.
The guy at the Calor filling station told me that they weigh the empty bottle and fit a new collar tag every time they refill. Hmm.
