Squeezed in a quick Le Shuttle 5 dayer beginning of March. We generally pass through or around France so not too familiar with places. We are going to head to Rouen but are looking at places in the area between Rouen and Calais. Have done Le Crotoy previously so looking for something different. Any suggestions, gratefully received, thanks in advance.

Amiens is quite nice for a city to visit up norf.

Just wander. We had a holiday once in a gite and explored the cote opale it's an area people usually just drive through. On the war stuff it depends if you are interested my wife would hate spending a couple of days on that.

A slight deviation to Arras. A nice paid aire with electricity and services next to the canal. A short walk up the canal into a lovely town with bars, restaurants and shops. A big market on Saturday. Underground tunnels to visit. Down the canal for a nice cycle or walk.

A difficult question to answer as you don't give any clues as to what your interests are. You could just Google 'places to visit in France'. I realise this may seem a bit passive/agressive but we live in France and are often asked this question only to be told 'we don't really like cheese/wine/chateaus' etc.

Calais to Le Quesnoy then onto the Muse river for places like Charleville-Mezieres, Stenay , Verdun etc.

Good luck! The French still hate us hope you don’t break down like we did last year, never again!

Where is the best place for the Normandy beaches and the WW2 memorials with places pitch up. Thanks

Aramanche is great, good new museum in town plus the 360 cinema. Aire on the cliff overlooking mulberry harbour.

You must go to see the Bayeux tapestry.
We were blown away.
Amazing, a thousand years old and the colours are like it was done yesterday.
You can stop on the Municipal campsite, the entrance is bazaar, and the electric is only 6 amps. The facilities are good and you can walk in to town and supermarkets.
There is also a large aire, but not used that.

Also, a good base for the WW2 beaches and museums.

Honfleur is good, boat trips are a must, but wrap up warm.

Bit of a sweeping comment. Like many other moho-ers we have always found the French friendly and helpful, whether in shops, restaurants, bar-cafes or on sites & aires.

Might save Bayeux until we have a bit more time, thanks for the advice though. We will go to Honfleur though.

With such a short trip this time I don't want to spend too much time planning etc. Got some bigger trips to plan in May/June and August/September/October. We love cheese, wine and chateaus! I think at the moment Rouen, Honfleur are a good start.

Might look at that another time, but thanks. Such a short trip this one, bit impromptu. Always good to get some sugesstions.
