have a 2008 6 speed manual gearbox Fiat Ducato x250,it crunched slightly into 4 th , just had gearbox ail replaced and it’s worse, what do I do now ?

Double-declutch, change the synchro unit, or replace gearbox. They never get better I'm afraid.

Simples - take it back to the repairer!
Question - was the clutch replaced as well, slave cylinder?

Sorry guys I did mean oil, it’s only done 29000 miles , my concerns is what’s caused it after so few miles , and will it happen again once I have had it fixed

Unfortunately gearbox problems aren't particularly unusual on the earlier X250 Fiats, remember the hoo-ha about reverse gear? Do you know if yours had the modification?

A good gearbox specialist should be able to sort it out for you and probably do the mod as well if needed. You SHOULD be okay after that but who knows? Get a guarantee on the work.

It doesn’t suffer from the dreaded reverse judder at all , that’s perfect it’s just the 4th synchro I suspect , I’m not overly concerned on
The repair bill , but more concerned I spend a shed load of money and it is short lived and needs doing again

Update it’s going in to gearbox specialist gearbox removed and fixed refitted 12 months warranty £1000 vat included

I think that’s a good price , and he gets good reviews should I name him ?

I would wait and see if job is good or not - get vehicle back then give review after maybe 1000 mls but price is good i thought 1 - 2k for the work recon gearbox diy or garage - is he using serviceable parts or new

Well it’s gone in today , they start on it tomorrow, so should get it back Friday/Saturday hopefully and then I’ll let you all know how well it went , but I would like to know why it’s gone at 29000miles

All new parts 3/4th gear synchro and check any thing else that needs attention he will ring me
