Peugeot Kon-Tiki
Hi
just purchased a 1995 Peugeot Swift kon-tiki
i haven’t had a Campervan before.

the fridge works when on gas or plugged in, I can’t get it to work on battery, I think I‘m not setting the correct switches.

also does anyone know what the switches do behind the drivers seat, its got CarverCascade Rapide written on it with another ‘fuse’ switch underneath

also there,s a cable behind drivers seat that says Connect to Mains on the plug?

Help!!! Please

Paul

Carver Cascade Rapide sounds like a water heater, a room heater or a combined unit. There's a hot water tank, usually about 10 litres. You fill it by running the hot water tap until water comes through. It can take a couple of minute, or more. I'm not familiar with this brand of heater so I don't know the details of the controls.

That's unusual, there's various possibilities. Maybe the original battery charger failed and this is an upgraded replacement.

There's a Truma Ultraheat demo here

the water and space heaters are seperate items carver is water and truma is heating as you can see in the videos the bwater heater is directly behind the 9 inch square flue on the outside of the van usually under a seat or bed box they havent been made for quite a long while but some spares are available. incorperated in the flue is a presure relief valve and a drain plug to access the burner module the flue comes off. they are now due to age prone to leaking and can be replaced with a malaga waterheater with a flue conversion plate not cheap around 500

The control panel shows that there is no water in the tank - do not use the Cascade until you have put water in the tank and filled the Cascade boiler by running a hot tap. Otherwise you will damage the boiler. There should also be a control panel somewhere for gas. The controls for operating the Ultrastore are usually on the top of the space heater.
Was this from a private deal? If from a dealer, they should have gone through all this with you. Did you get any instruction books with the van?
The controls you have posted are all for electrical operation and the water and space heaters will only work on these controls if you are connected to mains electricity.
Do you have a friend or neighbour who has a caravan or motorhome who could go through things with you?

The Cascade heater is mains electric or gas. Instructions here. It's mostly installation instructions, but User Instructions are near the end.
