I have just bought a new mh which is longer and wider than my last one. I am considering putting marker lamps on side at the rear but also to get forward facing camera so I can see down the length of the mh for those 'tight' moments ( I have the rear camera).
Has anyone else done this and can you offer any recommendations of good products- I am assuming that I will have to have an additional screen on the dash or wireless to phone?
TIA

We have full 360 from 4 cameras mounted centrally front and rear and likewise centrally either side, the software stitches the image for overhead shot but you can select each camera manually as well.

Note that both screen have to show the same image at the same time though.

Ours was the first twin monitor system they had done but the fitter was brilliant and made up the wiring harness sat in a field.

I somehow don't get those screen shots. View from above indicates that the other vehicles are on the right (UK offside), but the reversing view appears to show them on the nearside?

Have a look at motorhomeretrofits on YouTube. Ours and a few others are on there. Wouldn't be without ours. 4 cameras all hooked up to hard drive.

You got me thinking there  but yes the rear view image is reversed so that it is effectively what you would see in a mirror, anything else would be very confusing I think;)

I actually think that is not what you would see in a mirror, the obstruction would be on the other side. I think

You are correct. When i fit my high level rear view cameras I reverse them so they show the exact view behind as if i was facing backwards. My rear facing number plate camera, which i use for reversing against walls & which is perfect for positioning the ball hitch under the trailer coupling , shows a reversed image.

It’s what I see in my mirrors 😊 the camera image is reversed but if you wanted it showing the original image they would do that do for you I’m sure.

As per funflair, I have the omniview 360 with HD recording.
Has made the tight single track lanes around me less of an issue, and no problem reversing in narrow lane.
I decided to get the system when a Range Rover thought it best to undertake me at a roundabout and completely disappeared into my blind spot.

Not 100% sure the Germans and Austrians would like it, but I've had no issue there as yet.

Actually we don't have the recording yet as it wasn't available when we had the camera system fitted, is the recording good? I know it's not cheap.

No idea!!

The memory card is in place, but it only works via Microsoft and I'm a Mac man.

Guess it would be useful in case of bump.

I don't know if it records what is shown on screen, or all 4 views.

+1 for tailervision. Had our 360 system for 6 years now and not a glitch. Works well but I kept my existing rear camera too.

What would be good is to see the upper rear quarters as well. I’ve nearly knocked a couple of building overhangs as they are difficult to see / not possible to see in the cameras.

The overhead projection is nearly right. It depicts the van about 2 foot longer that it really is. Better than the other way round but worth checking on install as maybe they can refine it.

In a previous m/home I bought cheap Chinese twin camera and monitor setup. I feed the cables up the a pillar and cut and mounted the screen in the sun visor. It was neat and easy to use switching between cameras was simple. Cables were a good length as the cameras were rear mounted at each side rear.

I would say that our overhead is accurate to within a couple of inches, for the back I can see the bumper in the camera image so no guessing.

If you fit side markers you cannot just link up to rear light cluster if you got canbus system. I tapped into back of towbar socket works perfect
