Just spent some time with a 3 mobile manager who informed me that 3 will stop users who purchase a contract after this Friday from using the existing roaming benefits. Anyone looking to "roam" may wish to confirm this info is correct and get a contract PDQ. Also informed that any change to contracts (existing) after Friday, including upgrades, will curtail the roaming benefits.

Hope the manager was correct in what he told me and this info may be of benefit to menbers.

From 23 May 2022 customers who have taken out a new contract or upgraded with Three from 1 October 2021 will pay a charge of £2 per day when roaming within the EU and £5 a day when roaming outside the EU. Pay as you go customers and customers who have taken out a contract before 1 October 2021 are unaffected by these changes. Customers roaming in the Republic of Ireland are also unaffected.

I'm on a month to month with Smarty. Was delighted with it. Have been using it here in on holiday in France for watching F1, TV progs etc. Aargh! Br@xit!!!! Still, we got what they voted for. No fuel in UK. Cross channel traffic unabated. Unless you want to get home that is. Will I get suspended?

I can't change contracts mid term with severe penalties.
I pay £8 per month for 12gb including my times away roaming in Europe
But I won't be paying them £60 a month extra to roam Europe come next year.

We were told by three that any new contract taken out after October 2020 would not have roaming rights, so we cancelled the new contract we took out 3 days ago. I wish they could make their minds up xx

Was told that when our contract expires in Nov 2022, we should not upgrade nor cancel but simply go onto a rolling contract. This means that we will continue to pay the same amount with the same benefits including using our allowance abroad at no extra cost. Interesting.

Not sure that’s 100% correct as we have one sim that expired last month and they have given a month to choose a new plan or they roll you over to their choice of rolling contract which is more expensive and not necessarily the same.

I needed a new phone as my iPhone 6 is long in the tooth and the battery is duff, also I won't be able to use whats app after November. My Three contract ( £8 a month)) finishes in December. I have just bought an IPhone 11 64gb with 100gb date. If I deduct the cost of the phone I am paying £12 a month for calls and data, and I get free roaming for 24 months.

On the recommendation of other people on here I purchased the Superdrug sim unlimited data use both in U.K. and Europe so far it’s worked total for last month 50gb and still going all for £20. Brilliant deal

If I understood them correctly any contract ( may just be including a phone) taken out before end of September. I only got the extra data because they were matching a U Switch offer. The roaming is called Go Roam. I was only looking for 12Gb date but that’s what I ended up with.

I'm using one in my Mifi at the moment in France, even better 1st month free as they give you 20 quid of Superdrug points.
I expect the free roaming will end when Superdrug contract with Three comes up for renewal but its great for now.

What has the fuel shortages got to do with it. Move on please that boat is long gone. Why do people have to continually point the finger and blame what was the majority after all.
I love France and going to France but if was as bitter as some and blame every irrelevant problem on THEM. I’d get a one way ticket out

Thank you for the heads up I didn’t receive any notification from 3 so have just renewed my contact with them as mine ended on 15/10 and the rep confirmed that it does change tomorrow so only just made it
