Be warned you have to activate them in the UK now, this was not previously the case, I bought 2 x 12gb from Amazon and picked them up when I returned to the UK for an appointment. There was a sticker on them saying they could not be activated abroad ( we are fulltime in Europe). I activated both, one after another on my ipad in Gatwick, they now work perfectly here in France.

Full Time 2011-2013, now part timers!
That’s odd- must be very recent, as I activated one in December in Spain. It’s a pain if true, as they run out 12 months after you activate them, so if you have some left it may run out before you use it again, if you see what I mean!

Hope his isn’t true as we have 10 in a cupboard for emergencies, as above would not like to have to activate them all at once on a return the UK

Yes, I know, perhaps my Amazon buy wasn’t aa good as I thought. Anyway I took them into the 3 shop in Chichester who told me to activate them before I left. Photo of offending packaging attached.

It has always been part of Three's terms and conditions since the Three Feel At Home scheme started that the SIM must be used (or 'activated') in the UK first, but it has never been possible for Three to enforce this.

I had a customer activate a brand new SIM card on the phone with me this morning while in Portugal (run out of data), so as far as I'm aware this is not an enforced condition of use/activation that it be used in the UK before going abroad.

I'm aware of resellers of Three SIM cards who have been 'struck off' for selling the majority of them to customers who are abroad for foreign use (all SIM cards are logged / allocated against the seller) so I suspect this just the reseller has had a warning and is trying to safeguard against ongoing supply. These SIM cards are very popular with fraudsters outside of the UK due to the anonymity they provide.

I've sent an e-mail to my Three account manager, but as far as I'm aware nothing has changed.
