I've just charged our Heuwie device which has a 12 GB SIM in it. The card was bought on offer about 2 years ago and initiated 11 months ago so still in the 12 months date ?

I have another card we bought at the same time which has never been used so am I right in thinking it's 12 months will start from the date I put it in the device ?

We will be away when the first one expires so would like to know if I'm right in thinking the above so I can swap them over.

Cheers.

It works in 30 day blocks so if you use it abroad for less than 30 days then use it in the UK before the 30 days is up (30 days from when you logged on abroad) it will reset to zero so you still have 60 days left, likewise if you use it abroad for 30-59 days and then use it in UK before the 60 days is up it only counts as 30 days use.

I try and do this but with my current one I used it in UK first (I always try and just do something small for a day or two) and have since used it widely on 2 month trip to HK,NZ USA, then used it for a few weeks in UK and now into a month France, Italy and Croatia and its still going. I cannot believe how long its lasting.

Any suggestions for what happens to the 60 day limit post june 15th?

I've just bought one for next year to put in my phone.

Remember it won't tether abroad.

You can use your existing provider in a couple of weeks. After 15th June roaming is included in all UK tariffs.

Tethering is allowed on Three data sims only phone sims you can't tether abroad.
I wonder if it's not allowed because she's using a data sim in her phone, rather than in a MIFI? I don't know as I've never checked.

My three data sim won't allow me to tether my iPod to my phone in Benidorm, a right pain in the arse, I only want to download a song to it, and now I've got to find a bar to get free Wi-Fi... actually might not be too bad

Slight thread drift - we are off to Turkey next month (not in the van, sadly), I assume FAH is not available there using my 'three' pre-pay data SIM + mi-fi?

Turkey is not a FAH country!

Tethering is sharing your connection to multiple devices.
e.g. Making your phone a portable hot spot then connect to the internet via it from your laptop, tablet, other phones etc.

Lenny I'm dyslexic... I have zero idea what a portable hot spot is or sharing connections.

We that is the wife and I use the Hewei device with the 3 SIM to connect our IPads to so we can go on tinterweb thingy. If we can do that here and in France that will be fine and all we need.

In simple terms can we do it ?

Ta.

@Charlie - yes, that's exactly what 'tethering' is ... being able to connect your iPads to your MIFI in the way you are.

PS: Are you still 'ignoring' me? o_O

Yes don't worry, if the sim card is in the device you are wanting to use it will connect to the internet.

The sim card needs to be in the iPad to work. I thought you had a hewei tablet when I said don't worry. Looks like the ipads are tethered to the hewei thing.
