Hi all is it ok to replace 2x6 kg gas cylinders with 2x 13 kg cylinders on a compactline Carthago, cheers

Yes the lockers on them are large so I can't see any issues with putting in 13kg ones, however as has been said a refillable and an exchange one (ie one of your existing 6kg ones) would probably suffice.

Yes. I’ve just removed two to replace with gaslow. I have the two bottles available if anyone interested.

13Kg Calor @580mm high is a tight fit for the gas locker unless yours is a different pattern to my 2016 Compactline 138. A Gaslow 11Kg refillable is 530mm, a 10Kg Safefill 570mm. If you don't want to go down the refillable route then the old BP Gaslite/Flogas 10Kg will give you the most gas. Only exchangeable in UK though.

I have two 11kg Flogas in my locker, the 13 kg Calor is too big for two to be fitted so i keep it in the shed as a standby in time s of shortages.

We used to buy bottles in France before we bought refillables.
You can sign up for a free issue gas bottle from any of the nationwide supermarket chains.
We had I x Calor (left) and 1 x SuperU (right) bottle that covered all eventuality's.

When people talk of refillable, does that mean fixed tank that you can charge up with LPG from wherever sells it?
or do you mean refillable bottles
or do you mean juist twio normal 13KG bottles that you swap for full ones (I am not bothered about UK as I am on mainland Europe)

Whoops sorry for asking a question that I could have googled and now have.
Gaslow seem to be the chaps for the job and we will be getting a double bottle system fitted once we have taken delivery of the vehicle.

Supermarket bottles in France have not been free issue for many years now, most only want a nominal 5 - 25€ now which is refundable if you take them back with the relevant paperwork

I have asked three local calor gas dealers if they will take an empty 6kg calorlite and give me a full 13kg calor gas (obviously paying for the gas). No chance, only exchange like for like. Good news is loads of full 6kg calorlite available.
