My day job is online, so I have a laptop with me while working on it. Although not much work to do at the minute as people aren't spending due to the current situation.

I'm going to help build a few vans for someone else in another week to plug the financial hit. I prefer building vans anyway

Well, had a fair day today. I finished the plumbing, tested the gas and started wiring.

The wiring on our van is a little different to the norm, so not the quickest of jobs. But going well.

Tomorrow we are out of here before Jekyll or Hyde turn up, then off to Middlewich where I'll spend the next few days getting the van right. Didn't take a lot of pictures today, but pleased with the PC cupboard.

The little box above the PC is a fan controller with temp sensors. It controls the fans for the PC and the fridge. Not sure why I bothered - even on full the fans are almost silent standing right beside them (rated at 6.8Db)

The printer will slide out to use. Soon lol.

Then find somewhere close and quiet for the weekend and chill out for a few days

All of the doors are finished, but waiting on handles (EvoMatic). Be glad to get the battery and inverter running tomorrow

How about one of these for the printer slide? Its a shelf for the old CRT TVs that is meant to slide in/out of a cupboard?

If the printer can be turned 90 degrees it may still fit in the cupboard but allow sufficient space to pull it out as they tend to be wider than deeper.

Some might remember our first foray into full-timing. It didn't quite go to plan. Here's the original thread for anyone interested:

Anyway, fast forward a year.

We have lived in the blown up van on my Dad's drive since the last thread, helping look after him while he dealt with Cancer. Sadly, he lost his battle in October. Awful of course, but something we all have to deal with at some point.

Now it's time to get our life back. Time to get this van working again

I have today stripped the van of most of it's interior and moved into the Summer house I built for my Dad for a while. The van is being collected tomorrow and taken to a specialist to fit a fully re-manufactured engine. Not a cheap option, but the new engine is classed as zero miles and well guaranteed.

I did consider just going for another van, but the thing is, ours has only done 80K (2010 L3H2 Boxer) and most 3 year old vans have done more. I'm hoping with the new engine it should be great for a good few years. Really hoping

Once it's back I'll fit a new interior. Then off we trot

Amazingly, pretty good

It would have been finished a while back if I hadn't kept "tweaking" the design (plus I've built another 4 vans lol). I did most of the bodywork (flaky paint) at the weekend and the van is looking pretty good. I've slightly changed our charge system, which I'll fit tomorrow, then it's a lot of small jobs. Hoping to have it completed by the Overland show in a few weeks

I did, with linear actuators, but we changed our minds
(this happens often)

Did go with the Ottoman hinges on the lift up wardrobe though, which I think was your suggestion?

Didn't go with the slide out knife rack in the end, but did make a wall mounted one:
