3 vans are following the Wales team around France next Sept & Oct. We are struggling to book campsites in Nice & Bordeaux for 2 reasons (1) limited choice and (2) the sites I have found don’t take bookings until Jan 2023. So I am expecting a bun fight to get a pitch.
Anybody else having the same problem?
Any recommendations for sites close to the stadiums?
Anyone know if the RWC intend to open up any pop up campsites?

Hi Dai, we decided a year ago that we are going to just wild park around France near to the games. Parking our panel van will be easier than your Adamo, but you'll be heading home after that ¼ against England, even more space for us '\

I haven't got tickets but happy to watch in a fanzone.. I'll be following Ireland and won't bother with Paris..so probably looking for La Rochelle and further south ..

Marseille you can forget.

We had tickets for both Euro Finals this year, having thought it would be easy to find somewhere to stopover. There isn’t anywhere near the city where you can get back too using public transport in the evenings. 🤷‍♂️

We ended up giving the tickets to our son and his wife so they could meet up with their French friends. They flew down and stayed in a hotel.

Marseille is a definite miss for me 👍

We’re heading to Bordeaux too but like h1ghway1 are happy to find a bar or fanzone to watch 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

I didn’t think the English boys were going to bother watching after only winning one Slam since 2003.

Probably better off staying home and staying warm under blankets behind the sofa.

For the 2007 World Cup we used Avignon for the Marseilles games. Jump on the TGV and you are there in 45 mins.

I have booked sites for Paris (Opening weekend) and Lyon already as some opened up for bookings already so suggest checking each individually.
Hoping that local rugby clubs might open up overnight parking also.

I'd rather not thanks, it's been erased, shock can do that. I find it so much more comforting to remember 4 world cup finals :D
I remember that well. It was my daughters 11th birthday and she wanted to go out for an Italian meal.

She got her wish but her drunken father stayed at home glued to the TV with a large stash of beer.

How England lost that game I will never know.

Some say they choked.:whistle2:

I do indeed and can still remember THAT drop goal. (y)

To be fair England nearly choked that game too when they were by far the best team in the World.

It's rather gone downhill since then.

I think I can remember where I was, and what I was doing, every single time wales were in a World cup final, but then again my memory diminshing with age and I think maybe I dreamt it.
I guarantee that if we had been in 4 we would have won more than1.

Embarrassing really.

Got to win your quarter finals to get there, and you don't. Those knockout stages are so scary/chokey arent they Chris

I love that logic!

We failed to make it to the final as we weren't anywhere near good enough, but, I bet that we would have got better if we'd been good enough to "get" to the final!

In Rugby terms

Rugby World Cup victories
Rugby World Cup finals
Loosing to the All Blacks since 1953

All Rugby banter comedy gold, and the ultimate riposte to ANY England rugby putdown.

Think of it like playing rugby "Top Trumps"

Jim Quick trivia question

Which Nation (Titter) was the first to remain in their group when the hosted the Rugby World Cup?

Hint They've managed it TWICE

Answer WALES

Can I just bring a sense of perspective to the Wales and the World cup debate and remind ourselves where we are. Thankyou.

This is an interesting article.

It's 9 years old now but not a lot has changed.

I thought it was a helpful and informative article that contributors to this thread would enjoy reading.

And that's the thanks I get
Well we are both trying to be nice to each other! If the wales Captain hadn't been Red Carded for extremely dangerous play who know's what may of happened in 2011 which was really wales's World Cup year.

You'd expect more of a Captain even and county (Sorry Country) (forgot you lot think wales is a "Nation") (y)
