Next year is our 50th wedding anniversary.
To celebrate it is our intention to visit a different country each month.
(OK, we are going to cheat in that in April/May we intend to visit Italy and Sicily and regard them as separate countries.)
We will be travelling from our French base in Burgundy and intend to drive south through Italy and would welcome advice on places to overnight/stay and visit.
We have already visited Rome, Florence and Venice and, because we have an elderly dog prefer smaller towns to visit rather than cities. That way she can have a walk without overdoing it.
Arriving in the toe of Italy we would like to take the ferry to Sicily. What route would you recommend? The shorter the better.
