Since 1996, had Elddis/Swift/Rapido/Rimor/Chausson MHs. Autocruise/Globecar PVCs/Compactline i-138
this stops the doors from going right round excellent just hook on when doors are open and unhook when closing will stop another broken window
Now that's my type of problem solving, well done!

Hi everyone ... hope you’ve all been having a great time in your twins ? I’ve just done a mini Scottish tour and prior to that more renovation work in the new house !

A new issues arisen for me

So the lock sound was a big dramatic affair when pressing lock on the fob but I’m now experiencing problems unlocking the rear doors ! I have had to use the internal emergency escape one above the bed area!

I no longer have all the locking sounds but sound of a normal car/van lock of the 2 other sets of locks up front.

Is there a reset trick? I’ve tried putting key into key hole to lock- unlock but not worked

Serious head scratching here :sneaky:

On our last van the Hab door lock wouldn’t work. We found the wire had been trapped and one piece cut through. Probably has no relevance to your problem but if all the other locks appear to be working it may just be power not getting to the back doors

All fixed! They took the panel off and it appears the mechanics of the handle wasn’t quite moving to full reach and with a quick adjustment all sorted

Thankfully I’ve a great dealer that’ll fix minor issues rather than say I’ll have to go to fiat.

That's great news. It sounds as if you've chosen a tip-top dealer.

Yes they’ve been ok so far, few grumbles but only 1 admin member who seems to not see things though but the sales guy and mechanic staff always happy to check if they can quickly and simply fix an issue

I’m about. 4 minutes away from them so really handy.

Does anyone have solar installed on their Twin? If so, do you know where the entry point through the roof and into the habitation area is?
Ours is a 600 SPB and I can see there's a loose solar positive cable near the EBL which I believe might end up above the fridge. If that's the case I'll need to take the fridge out as it's quite tight up there. Can't see the negative cable anywhere so perhaps they're expecting it to ground to the chassis.
I'm thinking that if there's room in the duct behind the fridge I might see if I can feed my 5m solar cables down it and hoping it'll pop out near the EBL.

Any advice or pointers gratefully received!

Update on the location of the solar cables: This weekend I took out the fridge and found a white plastic cup screwed to the roof concealing the male spade connectors for both positive and negative solar cables. They run back down to under the driver's seat where only the positive is visible and the negative is tucked away at the back and connects to all the other grounded cables.

I drilled a small pilot hole straight up from where the end points dropped down and it's perfectly placed to stay clear of the 200W panel I've installed between the roof rails. Then from the top of the roof used a 32mm hole saw to create a hole large enough for both solar cables to drop down. They've obviously thought about it and saved me the hassle of running cable throughout the habitation area.

I had to buy a Mate N Lok male connection along with the little metal connectors and a crimper to plug into the EBL from my Victron 75/15 controller. Overkill but it looks nice. I snipped the spade connector off the positive under the driver's seat and ran that directly into the controller along with an additional extension to the negative cable (not sure if this was necessary but I couldn't see the harm in it).

I've not connected the panels to the end points above the fridge yet as I'd bought the wrong sized spade connectors and ran out of time. Got to wait another two weeks :(

Another question: Has anyone successfully taken a swivel seat off? I'm trying to get at the battery area under the passenger seat because I couldn't slide a second leisure battery in. Managed to get six bolts out but discovered two additional ones that'll need a socket for which I don't have. I noticed that there's a cable (earthing?) that runs from the top part of the seat to the bottom part and is connected to one of these two down-facing nuts. Anything I should be worried about? I worry that it'll be something to do with airbags or something that'll throw an error code if I disconnect it.

Nothing to be worried about.

Make sure that you keep the ignition off while carrying out the procedure and that'll ensure that an airbag fault in not thrown up.

Here's a few pics for you. Firstly, the small black lead (earth lead for the seatbelt AB and pre-tensioner sensor) is only connected by a standard nut which is secured underneath the seat base. Here's the welded bolt mount, the nut is connected below:

......and the wire when disconnected:

You then need to deal with the large hexagonal retaining bolt - see below:

You'll need a wrench kit but off the top of my head I can't recall the size:

You've got the airbag connector to disconnect and that's it:

.........and don't forget to keep the ignition off during the process.:D

I've just popped out to the van to check and you'll need a 20mm for the job:

Damian make sure you remove the plastic panels from the sides of the seat base, along with the front flap as it means you won't have to worry about damaging them when you remove the seat and put something over the handbrake housing/arm etc ... when we had the batteries swapped on ours the idiots doing it damaged 2 panels and put some scratches on the handbrake etc taking the seat out and putting it back.

Minxy Girl Good tip. Will do. Thankfully no handbrake will be involved as the batteries are under the passenger seat on its.

Hi 19 twins.... have anyone added room bars yet to their vans? I wish to be able to use a roof box for Europe trips when I take family and this means storage increase for the items you need, but get in the way. I have a large Thule roof box that would fit between roof sky openings

Can I just use standard ducato ones? I’ve looked down on the roof from the 1 st floor, not climbed up as yet!

I would purchase a collapsible ladder to stow away to assist my 5.2 height
