Signed for mine 10th March and I know the dealership had a bit of a queue for work shop and I was ok to wait a week or two additional as dvla we’re swamped with new reg

Hmmm not really paid any attention to the workings of the fridge ! It’s a waist height smaller one ? What or how is this powered then ?

My vw just switched on !

We use a lot of meets sometimes three weeks without hook up so we really need a fridge that works of gas. Terry

Is it not possible to order a 3 way one, I agree with you, the amount of time off hook a 3 way would suit you better.

From what I have been told they don’t do a three way fridge as an option.terry

@Cheshirecat57 Been following this thread with great interest as Adria Twin has made it onto our (very) short list too - just wondered if you managed to get it weighed yet after adding your factory options ?

I’d be interested to do ours once kitted out as the 640 SGX starts with 888kg of loading weight (for your motorbike) rather than 565kg for the SLB. I’m hooong this gives us plenty of leeway,

Do you know how they manage to get to this payload figure - it’s impressive for a 6.3m van - the MIRO figure quoted on their website for the SGX is lower even than the 6.0m version ?

Just to answer my own post...:D seems the SGX is supplied on the Maxi chassis whereas others are on light one (y)

The payload quoted on the 6.0m SLB is versus a 3300kg total. For the 6.4m SGX they use 3500kg to calculate the payload. Both vans are just over 2600kg MIRO so the difference is the extra 200kg in the maximum calculation.
What’s slightly unusual is the 6.4m SLB is quoted as weighing just over 2900kg ... not sure why the same sized van weighs over 300kg more - makes me wonder what they’ve added to the SLB or what they’ve taken away from SLX ?

AS far as I know, the only difference is in the beds - the SLB has the flap up bed & SGX has the raising one.

Agreed ...thats the only difference I can see. I did talk to Adria themselves and they confirmed the weight of the van off the importation documents they got from the factory - and said the supporting frame of the fold-up bed was very heavy.

Any plans take yours to a weigh bridge, as I guess thats the acid test ? :)

Yeah, I think we will sometime, though maybe not immediately as we're in a mad rush to get sorted for a month away, along with loads of personal stuff to sort out - it always happens all at once!

Hi
As far as I am aware, the SLB,Twin Beds, is only on the 6.36
Its the light chassis but plated at 3500kgs on 15 inch wheels
Factory “numbers” are for a “bare” van, as with all vans
Extras which you and I may consider essential come out of this exaggerated payload

My mistake .. too many letters. The 6.0m van is SPB (not SLB)
But I’m still intrigued as to how they offer two 6.3m vans, one with the same payload as their 6m version and one weighing 300kg more.

So we’re due to pick up our SLB in around 10 days time (y)

For anyone whose read this thread and confused over SGX payloads .... it appears so were Adria UK. Their claimed 888Kg payload was too good to be true and was just that - not true. It should know be amended on their website to 479kg

Reading the reviews, it seems there is some “noise” over poor flushing on the cassette toilets - not sure if this is a Thetford or Adria issue.....have any Fun Twin members found this to be a problem ?

Andrew Ditton, a caravan and motorhome writer has just started a three month test of a 640 SLB and will be publishing regular video updates on his YouTube channel. Here is a link to his first video, which isn’t the best as it’s a live chat, but he shows the issue with poor flush flow to the toilet. Future episodes should be very watchable based on his past output. Here’s the link

Any noise on the toilet might be down to the water pump. We were surprised with the pump on our new Adria Matrix, it seems so noisy. We never heard a dicky bird in our previous vehicles but this one can be heard. It doesn't always kick in but can be heard most times you use water. There are threads on here telling how to quieten it by either lagging around the pipes close to the pump or adjusting its power. After 7 nights away on our first trip we started to get used to it and found it a bit reassuring to know that if we ever had a leak the pump would soon tell us. Not a big problem.

That’s good to know (y) Andrew D’s video also mentions the flush not ....well there no nice way to put this .... the flush doesn’t wash the bowl - it just dribbles down one side?

That’s a massive pain with the payload. And I’m also a little suspicious as the SGX is designed to be able to carry a motorbike so would expect it to need to be quite a bit more than the other 640 vans...

No issues with our loo so far.

I have been chatting with Marquis Northampton about this model - I know Marquis have had some mixed reviews on here in the past, but I can only go on my experience, and although in the end I have decided not to go with them, they were very helpful and efficient.

Its maybe not ideal if after a 3,5t absolute limit van, but they checked with SV Tech off their own bat, and they reckon the SGX could be re-plated to 3,7t with no physical mods - so if it was an issue, there is some leeway potentially
