I am doing a conversion on a ‘19 LWB Sprinter. Have installed a couple of very nice Captains swivel chairs on lowered bases and lowered the handbrake on a bracket. All works very nicely apart from the handbrake cable. There is now too much of it and it refuses to go through the floor at at angle that the floor grommet can handle.

It looks like I need to shorten the cable about 2” but I’m not sure how to do this safely. Others must have had the problem. What was your solution?

Used to be done forming a tight S bend and a couple of U bolt & clamps
Could be difficult with such a short length.
Legal

Only other option would be cut off the nipple and fit a solderless nipple but there's no certainty it would be strong enough....suppose you could also solder the nipple when fitted
