My motorhome is a 2017 Rapido 10000 DFH (tag) on a Fiat engine
So i am hopong some of you might be able to shed some light on this issue as it is quite baffling.
My MH has been in Newark for a week getting some warranty work completed and was due to be dropped back yesterday (Sat) after being completed. The issue is that when they stopped around the corner to get some fuel the MH refused to start. Key in the ignition, all lights come on but when you turn the key there is nothing there only the spring part where it should then turn over.No starter motor nothing. If it as if the immobiliser has kicked in but then not disengaged. Tried locking the MH and unlocking but same, left it for 10mins still the same. Eventually they called me and came to pick me up and i then tried basically what they tried again but still nothing. So i called fiat assist and they were on there way but they would be up 90mins. every 5 mins i was trying the key again and after i would say after about an hour this time i tried the key and it started. Nothing different done, no more lights on the dash but it started.
I have the following fitted to the vehicle over and above the factory spec
Growler inc GSM Part(Vanbitz)
Tracker from Trackstar (Vanbitz) this comes with a transponder that sits on the dash (like a fat credit card), if not on the dash trackstar call me to say vehicle moved. I have also asked Trackstar and they have said there device does not interfere with the vehicles immobiliser and they cannot activate it without auth from police.
E&P Jacks (Mick SAP)
I do have a 2nd key but it just a basic key as no option to lock or unlock the MH by pressing buttons as there is none. Can this key be tested to start the MH or is it just one to get you inside the vehicle as i may start carrying this key if it will actually start it.
Of course once it has started Fiatassist dont want to know and therefore dont want to attend which is fair enough. At the moment i have sent the vehicle back to Newark to get it sorted but i have a strange feeling they will just come back and say no fault found. I cannto risk driving this without it being fixed as if it happened abroad or on the motorway i cannot sit there for 60mins approx till it comes back to life.
Thoughts and suggestions, the vehicle is back at the dealers now but i am speaking with the customer services manager on Monday?
