Hi all,

We're wondering about one of these but it's hard to find any online info. Anyone have an opinions on quality, things to look out for etc?

And which would you say are the quality PVC manufacturers for the Euro layout, and which should we avoid?

Our last van was a Rapido v53 so 6m but same bathroom / layout, had it 5 years and loved it. (y)

We now have a Pilote v600 another 6m same layout, but better bathroom and a high fridge that we like, had it since March and very happy with it. Bob.

We are more on the European builders as the door is on the other side, our first motorhome was UK built the last 3 have been German and French. :D
With UK build your more likely to get things like ovens, but when we have had one Janie never used it, and it was just another cupboard, I think it's more to do with layout that suits you. (y) Bob.

Yes we have the V66, when we moved to France we downsized from a Rapido 791 FF. The V66 with its twin single beds suits us fine, the only mod we did was to reduce the size of the table to give us more sitting space. The only thing we miss from the big van is a decent shower cubicle but you cannot put a quart in a pint pot.

Like @bobandjanie we prefer continental built designs. On our 3rd van, all French, but like German ones too.

Probably unlikely to buy a British conversion, sadly - but never say never... ;) :)

We downsized from an N+B Arto to a PVC autosleeper Warwick and the shower and toilet are much bigger than the N+B one which was a big surprise to us .

What do you consider to be a "Euro" layout ?

WildAx have a variety of layouts - a smallish converter but now expanding, now owned by Rapido.

We've got a Dreamer D55+ which is essentially a Rapido V55. Very nice build quality, tall fridge, separate shower and washroom etc. Globecar and Adria are also very popular and well built. Less common are Carado and Knaus Boxlife. Hymercar seem to be a bit marmite with some who like them and others who don't. We rejected Hymer in favour of the Dreamer.

One big decision is compressor versus 3 way fridge. Generally the compressor fridges do well in warm/ hot climates and not so good in the cold, the reverse is true of the absorption fridges.

We had a look at some Malibu's last Saturday, look very well thought out and built. Shame they did not have the model we wanted.

A PVC "Euro" layout is usually
Side door on "wrong side"
Rotating front seats with Dinette behind
Midships kitchen on side door side opposite washroom on nearside
Elevated sleeping behind (Transverse double or length way double/singles)
Storage under bed

Usually no oven , some manuf offer as option, no microwave

Prior to getting our Rapido V68, we'd ordered a Dreamer D58 - longitudinal fixed twin beds in a 6-metre van! Unfortunately, after waiting 7 months, it turned up with a manual gearbox instead of the comfortmatic semi-automatic we'd ordered... doh!! Hence, we had the in stock Rapido with auto box.

But like you, we were really impressed by the Dreamer - good build quality, modern interior and excellent value (comparatively).

Must admit we were apprehensive at the prospect of having a compressor fridge for the first time, but willing to give it a go.

As it turned out with the V68, we're back to a 3-way absorption.
