2013 Fiat Ducato struggling to engage 2nd gear. (1 Viewer)

Hi

Is this a common issue? 20,000 miles.

Not mine, but looking at one.

20k on our Ducato 2014, never had that problem

It’s normally a struggle to engage 1st if the clutch is not fully disengaging, try seeing if it goes in reverse easily. Had one van in for repair twice over a few years with the same problem a worn 2 nd gear synchro. Turned out the driver always used 2 nd when pulling away and in heavy traffic rested his hand on the gear lever.??

Drive it in each gear and go power on then power off. If the gear lever moves to and fro as you do this there is definitely an internal problem in the gearbox. A little to and fro ok in 6th with high miles but not at 20k.
