Hi Guys,

Is it possible to buy the rear facing 3 point seat belt type seats from autotrail to add to these models.

I only ask as most of the second hand vans seem to come with 4 travel seats, obviously new ones can ship with 6 so wanting to retro fit if possible as I would sooner my 4 kids were all in 3 point belts.

Also can you buy full seat cover replacement kits from auto trail??

Thanks

Scott

I'm a newbie
We ordered a new autotrail scout in October for delivery in March with 6 seat belts fitted .when we went to pick it up from the dealer it turn out it only had 4 fitted as the dealer had forgotten to specify the extra belts on the order . In an effort to rectify the situation they rung autotrail to see if the could be retro fitted and was told yes it could be if it was sent back to the factory cost £4000 and couldn't do it for a couple of months .so yes it can be done and am sure there are other people out there who could also do it .am also sure you would need to change the seat backs so there was a head rest to protect the neck in case of an accident

wow 4k seems excessive!!! Yes I would want to fit the higher seat backs too.

Maybe easier to find a scrap van... Although what happens to motorhomes when they die, do any scrap yards take them??

many many years! since I was a kid
very very few newish vans get scrapped and dismantled. the majority get repaired and back on the road. have seen more than a few where a replacement chassis and cab are grafted in to rebuild write offs. just so much more money to be made than selling as parts
even if you could find one the right size, the seatbelted seats need a subframe bolted to the chassis and this will affect type approval
in short, retrofitting seatbelted seats is no easy task and would likely invalidate insurance if not done by a specialist firm. cheaper to replace the van with another with the requisite number of belts

More than toes wet now!
What does your V5 say as number of seats? Would "adding" others give you legality issues?
