Can anyone tell me what type of chassis would be fitted to a Hymer B544 Classic?

I know it's on the Fiat Chassis with rear leaf springs etc...a previous search on the Vin identified the chassis as being made in 2000. My question is is it known as a Platform Chassis, a Box or a Bus?

It's just to identify the correct replacement front crossmember.

Many thanks
Dave

Thanks for that comprehensive reply @airwave. Completely agree with your conclusions and as luck would have it...the correct part arrived which was a front crossmember in this instance. Probably though, the crossmember will be the same for all the different variants.

That's the last little job on this great old van as it's now sold.

Many thanks

Certainly should be as the front of the chassis and cab is the same on all variants.
Only the bolt-on rear chassis members should differ...usually by length (long/short w/base or Alko replacement.
