Does anyone know the best easy way to put the rad/engine fan belt back on, it came off???????, but dam it is hard to get back on, with out all the ##@$##$^ words. thanks guys
I'm assuming this is a diesel pusher , either Cummins or Cat ?
If it's not a broken belt, do you know why it came off ? That would be my concern before trying to put it back on ...
If it's a new belt your replacing, then you need to feed it from behind the fan, there is a slot on the top of the fan cowl where you push the belt through, and feed over each fan blade while turning the fan
Once over the fan, feed it around the crank , alternator , water pump and finally over the belt tension pulley.. yours maybe different.. On the Cummins engine, the tensioner arm has a 1/2" square hole .. for the very purpose of levering it .. so using a 1/2" x 4" extension and socket ratchet, lever the arm to allow the belt to slip over the tensioner pulley..
I hope that is understandable.. it's a lot easier showing than describing .. good luck..
