2001 2.8 jtd fiat 3 pin diagnostics (2 Viewers)

Hi needing some advice please I have 2 x 3 pin connectors one with 2 wires one with 3 wires neither seem to communicate with my many cables and diagnostic tools can anyone tell me which is the correct port and if it is possible they are not active and why that would be thanks

If your vehicle is an x230, rectangular dash, I don't think there is a workable OBD port.

It's not the rectangular dash and I have the ports located it's like they are unplugged I need to clear faults and diagnose intermittent handbrake and airbag warnings while driving

I doubt they are diagnostic ports.
You won't get much info off 3 wires considering a regular OBD socket has something like 19 wires.
They look like redundant wiring plug/socket for equipment your van isn't fitted with.
One common wiring harness for all models and variants rather than one harness for each model/variant.

OBD port located behind cover for fuses if rhd near knee when sat in drivers seat .will req torx to remove cover

I tried every 3 pin plug that looked like that with another system - all failed to connect or report anything. They leave those dead ends on the common loom for air-con, extra fog lights, day time lights etc... etc... Alternatively - how do you know they are diagnostic 3 pin ports?

I bought a cable to connect to them via a USB plug I'm sure some are for accessories that's why I'm enquiring hoping to find someone familiar with this model

I have a 2001 ducato 1.9td with these same ports and like Lenny said I believe these on mine are something to do with headlight height adjustment as a secondary optional extra, which we don’t have.
But I could be wrong but there are 2 ports, one each side of the headlights.
Just must observations.

So I just connected and reset all dash codes it's the 3 pin connector with a red white wire and a black wire 2 wires only and it worked using my konnwei KW 808 eobd obd reader thanks for all your input

It was Mr. Pappajohn who posted about the secondary ports for accessories in this thread and not Mr. LennyHB as I stated.

I used Unidiag and on a similar 3 pin diagnostic port design on a 2000 Maserati a while ago. Very clunky and old skool but allowed me to reset engine, ABS & active suspension damper dash lights. It's all Fiat Magnetti Marelli or Bosch based so may be worth a bit of digging around. The baud rates and handshakes take a lot of fiddling but there was a great online community with all the knowledge.
