So you've fastened 50cc a lawn mower engine to standard 70A alternator.

Got to admit, as a battery charger the theory is good. Only doubt is if the little motor can crank it at that 70A, probably will.
it does brian:thumb:all to do with the gearing
and its a new honda gxh50(i give £35 for it) mixer engine, but the thing is i dont have to run it for long as it will charge pdq:thumb:
and if the alternator goes pop i can get one from any scrappy for £20:thumb:

A Woosh bang
and how many amps does that push out 1 amp if lucky on a screeming 2 stroke, its not the same might be 12v but not the same.not even similar.

your correct it's not similar .. it is a lot lighter and>>>> I quote
capable of I would guess 30A, although so far only tried it on slightly discharged batteries and got 15A.

not bad for a little strimmer ... even if it is noisy

but a slightly discharged battery is not a test,i have tried this on a battery showing 10volt and bought it up to 14.5 volt in about 20 mins, now thats a test:thumb: i have also run this connected to a fully charged battery while useing a 1000watt 230v hair drier through a 2000watt inverter now thats a test:thumb:

To do this the "normal" way you would need a 1kW genny plus a serious 70A charger.

To use that genny with the normal 20A(ish) MH charger would indeed take three times longer.
