Anyone got any suggestions on nice places to stay in and around the Alicante area

Within 200 miles

Nice beach base sites

Maybe the odd one in land a bit

Cheers
Graham

I have just spent the most fabulous three days south of Alicante at a free site that I would have gladly paid for.
We also made two new friends there who like us would have paid to be there, anyway here it is, it is sitecode 63462

We're currently in Calpe, Camping Paraiso.
We will definitely return.
It's a lovely place. There seems to be a lot of building work going on, so the area must be prosperous.

So are we, do please come and intrduce yourselves, we are on our usual pitch number 52. We will be here for a couple of weeks and back again in September. The only site that feels like home.

Right @franknjan I've met Frank and Jan too, Frank was in the pool trying his hardest to sound Welsh following my suggestion that Wrexham isn't really in Wales. No doubt he'll come down and rip the pee out of us poor folk sitting in the poor end of the site. Today we had the 5kg of Oranges for 4 Euro, beautiful reallyt Bootiful.

We have a house in Javea and love the area. But, the campsites are not great. It’s not a camper friendly area. Parking near beaches is very limited, non existent even.

Camping al mafra in Alfaz del pi is good. It’s near the tram stop too.

Playa montroig is a good site but it’s 280 miles away from Alicante

I though I recognised the name, Camping al-Mafra I remember from back in the early "naughties". It was well appointed and serviced but Very expensive, £20 a night back then. Run if I am correct by the family who ran the now defunct Site by the beach near Villajoyosa.? There is I understand a new(ish) site just north of Villajoyosa, now too?. Camping Alicanti Imperium?. Most of these sites are not cheap unless you are staying more than a Month.

We stayed at Almafra for a couple of weeks in March/April. Decent site and OK at C&CC winter rates. I think it's owned by an Irish chap who has taken over in the last year or two. Mixed reports from those who know about these things but it seemed OK to us, though like quite a few sites loads of 'casas' and caravans/fifth wheelers unoccupied until Easter. The only thing I wasn't that keen on was that they have to come and connect/disconnect the hook up and TV connections, reading the meter at the same time. Convenient for tram and bus and easy to cycle to Albir/Altea. The ride up to Albir lighthouse was a challenge. Benidorm centre was a real mess with roadworks this year but maybe that's finished now.
