Well I know both questions have been covered a few hundred times before but like everything you can't find the answer when you want it. So, could someone please tell me:
Q1: if the cassette rattles does this mean the float is broken or is it as it should be?
Q2: in this video, what type of grease would be best?

If you thought the float was rolling around inside that would be wrong but a rattle when you wash it out is OK.

And, does it need greasing most seem to work for years and thrive on total neglect, well ours does, mind you we do feed it s_______________________ every now and again.

I was going to add if I had to guess I would say silicon grease but really doubt that plastic to plastic that doesn't move very often really needs greasing.

Have a look it’s easy enough to open, a flat piece of wood side to side across the two lugs and a sharp tap anti clockwise easy peasy, mind you I’d make sure it’s empty and rinsed,:)
