Hi everyone, picked our MH up on Tuesday and had managed to get on a couple of sites pretty local to us for our first jaunt.
White Water at Tees Barrage & Springhill Farm at Seahouses, both sites were very good and all the people we met were very pleasant.
Couple of mistakes made by myself (not parking correctly in pitch) easily rectified, and not having a connector for speed fitting on hose (Thanks to a guy from Durham who had a spare one and very kindly gave us it)
Helped that the weather was great on Tuesday/Wednesday, but still plenty to do when it was not so clever Thursday/Friday, walked the poor dogs legs off.
Must say it was better than both of our expectations, can't wait for our next run out. Thought it was great that most cafe's/pubs restaurants were dog friendly.
And once again thanks for all the tips/advice we have gleaned from this forum (Best £15 we've spent)

So the Elddis should be delivered next Thursday but having put the deposit down 11 July have found out that tax not applied for until 4 August with DVLA taking around 4 weeks. So it looks like park on driveway after trade plate delivery and pace up and down waiting for DVLA confirmation before being allowed out on the road.
Still, gives me time to learn about Harvey.......

Glad you enjoyed it. Its all a learning curve. Just wait until you decide to try wild camping with no EHU, Thats when the fun and games really begin.

I think it will be a while before we try wild camping, as you say it's a learning curve. Think we'll stick to sites for our first few trips. Hopefully the grandson (nearly 6) will be coming with us next time so we'll try and find a site with things for him to do on it, or near by.
Cheers

Started 2012, 1st Burstner Ixeo it720, 2nd Carthago C-Tourer i150:)
It’s a good idea to stay on sites for 3/4 days for several reasons:)
1. If any of the new units fail to work properly.
2. Don’t hook up to electric, so that you can monitor your batteries, solar efficiency and to see how hungry your electrical units are. This will should show any weaknesses in your unit for wild camping. If your batteries struggle, simply plug in and repeat:)
Enjoy your new van and adventures:)

Welcome to fun, white water was the first place we went to with our brand new van nearly 11 year ago. Haven't made it back yet, but November probably not the best time for sorting out how to work the heating.

"walked the poor dogs legs off." Seriously though, your dogs paws could have got burnt if you walked on paving in the blazing sunshine. I trust this wasn't the case.
