Hi what was your 1st motorhome?

This was mine.Broken Link Removed

We travelled all around Scotland in the 70's with 3 children and it never missed a beat. It is a Bedford Romany with a 4 speed column change gearbox. We then went on to buy a Comma

Since 2009 with motorhomes several caravans then tents before that.
That looks like a really cute camper van.
Our 1st is the one we still have , we chose right first time to suit us.
Now the kids dont come as often , we still love it. We just have more space to lounge about in.
We plan on keeping it for at least another 5 years.
Then we are getting a new long wheel base panel van. Which Ralph is going to convert exactly to our requirements . So we can go more off the beaten track touring.

My first van was a 1965 minivan with a matress in the back and camping stove. That was in 1967. I travelled all over in that 4 gallons of petrol for a quid, and 60mpg those were the days.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Since 1990 ish...
Wow, I suddenly realize what a newbie I am reading some of these responses!
1st van for me was a self converted Mazda panel van @ 1990.
It was an ex plumber's van with 89,000 miles on the clock when I bought it.
Simple conversion with bed, cupboards, stove but I installed electric hook-up and a fridge. It took us all over Europe and across to Morocco on one 6,000 mile trip so that was the start of it all really. Happy days!::bigsmile:

Mine was a self converted VW ex Dutch army minibus in the 70's. It was actually several years older than its registration indicates as it was reregistered on import. It had built in water tank,TV (B&W only) and a rudimentary toilet compartment. The rather odd hightop was done by a firm in Essex.
The Herald 13/60 convertible behind it was mine too. The photo is a scanned Polaroid.
