Hi,
Will be getting a new Motorhome very soon. It will be new and we have not insured one before.

interested in what I should ensure the insurance should cover, will make sure it covers first year new replacement, what other things are essential

also it’s 4800kg and just under 8m, what’s the best accident / breakdown recovery ?

many thanks

Comfort Insurance is popular amongst motorhomers. And they offer very reasonably priced breakdown as an add on - just check it covers your size and weight of van. https://www.comfort-insurance.co.uk/

You don't mention what type of motorhome you are getting, but if an 'A'Class, replacement windscreens can be prohibitively expensive, so check there is sufficient cover in the policy.

If it is a brand new van, which it sounds like, the insurance company will almost certainly require you to have a tracker fitted and possibly other additional security such as an alarm.

Also be clear about where it is going to be kept - home / storage depot - insurers can be fussy about that and may not accept it being, for example, stored in a farmer's field or barn (unless it's your own farm ;) ).
