Thinking of buying this. Is this engine/g'box set up prone to 5th problems

First things first
Always a good idea when talking mechanicals to call it a Fiat, Ford, Merc etc
When talking body or internals it then becomes a Hymer, Swift, Burstner etc
I assume Fiat,
Oil levels are important for every 5th gear problem there will be a 100 without it.

We have a 2000 fiat 2.8

Fantastic

No 5th gear issues

If it's fiat, I think the recommendation is to overfill the gearbox pre 2001-2

We have had 4 motorhomes. EuraMobil, Frankia, La Strada and this old Hymer. The others were all Sprinter Based.

We have had new, Nearly New and used.

£ for £, this has been the best.

just over fill gearbox abut 1/2 inch on dip stick

on the old one there is i have done rebuild on two and refurbish on another one and changed sevrele
