Classic and much sought after 1992 Mercedes, Hymermobil S700.

I imported from Germany in December 2006 with one previous owner, and 147,000 Km on the clock. Now reads 271,000 Km (169,500 miles). Just had its annual service and a brakes overhaul.

Bar Version. 3 swivelling Captain's Chairs, all with seat belts, plus side bench seat.

Fixed large double rear bed, Over cab double, drop down bed. Side bench seat, so could sleep 5 adults.

Toilet compartment with cassette toilet and SOG, washbasin and separate shower.

Electrolux 3 way fridge/freezer 240v/12v/gas, which has had 12v and 240v elements and gas burner renewed.

4 burner hob, twin sinks.

Blown warm air heating. Truma convection/blown air heater, S3001 (3Kw) at rear and E4000 (2.8/4Kw) blown air only, up front.

Factory fitted, Pull-out Motorcycle carrier in rear bumper.

Rear drop down corner steadies.

Rear cargo hold under rear bed with 2 external access doors, plus interior access.

Electric entrance double step (works but has been damaged by being left out due to warning buzzer malfunction) additional Hymer aluminium folding step, also useful for short person to reach into high cupboards

Fresh water tank 200 litre. Waste water tank 150 litre

Long Range 120 litre diesel tank. Consumption 12–14 litres/100km (17 to 20mpg) Best I have had was 25mpg on long, level run in the Landes region of France.

I doubt if there are many other S700s on the market with as many add ons, as we full timed in it for 6 years. So loaded with extras:

Noise Killer soundproofing fitted under cab carpets, under dash top carpet and has engine rocker box blanket fitted.

Cab curtains lined with thermal, light excluding material. Set of external “Silverscreens”.

Reversing camera.

2 x 130w Solara roof mounted Solar Panels. Morningstar Duo solar regulator. 3 x 110 leisure batteries (new in October 2016 with 4 year guarantee). Waeco 40 amp battery to battery charger.

85 litre nominal (actual 68 litre at 80%) LPG tank, with 50 mbar regulator fitted and a spare. Gasparini (now sold at Telair Eco Energy 12v Generator) 12v 20amp LPG auto-start/auto-stop generator built in under the floor, with extra oil tank and filler fitted in the boot and hours meter. Waeco “Perfect Power” 2kw inverter. Separate circuit for inverter 240v and mains with mostly UK sockets. LED lights in Bathroom, Kitchen and Lounge area. Two document Safe boxes, one in hidden location.

Roof mounted Oyster 85cm auto-seeking satellite dish, Status aerial. AvTec TV/DVD built in Freeview. Free-sat box. Both TV and box are mains and 12volt. Remote controls and manuals for TV and box. CB radio, Midland 98 plus, fitted instead of ash tray in dash.

Omnistor Awning together with a made to measure Omnistor Safari Room, plus Awning Skirt. Omnistor video to show erection and packing away of Safari Room. Extra awning tie down kit, and Ground sheet.

Outside BBQ point. Cadac Safari Chef Grill. Grand Remoska Oven (240 volt), with cook book.

Westfalia Tow Bar and single electrics, which alternatively feed lights on motorbike rack.

Waste pipe storage inside motorbike rack. Body fittings for a bike rack on rear, but no rack.



Mechanical side: Lots of work done over time in renewing parts, such as: New heater matrix. Rear Springs. Front Shock absorbers. Water pump and viscous fan. Vacuum exhauster pump. Fan belt tensioner. New front marker lights. In the last two month a full service has been undertaken, rear brake shoes have been relined. New load balancing sensor. New Master Cylinder, New Slave cylinders both sides at rear and new brake pipes where required.

Habitation side: Original E2800 front heater replaced with new E4000 version giving 2.8kw and 4kw heating options. Ducting altered to direct very hot air from front heater into van using a 90 degree outlet. Replaced Fridge 12v and mains electric elements, plus gas jet. Water heater replaced with dual Gas/Mains model. Bathroom basin replaced. Kitchen sink drainage modified for better drainage. Replaced shower head with “Camel” shower head and new hose. (original head also included). Some blown air joints, pipes and outlets have just been replaced. New SOG fan and a new control wire for inverter remote just replaced. For your personal hygiene and comfort a brand new Thetford cassette fresh up set (new toilet seat and cassette). This is the latest version cassette with handle and wheels, still boxed at present.

Will have 12months MOT.

Looking for offers around £14,000 but open to negotiation. Location Darlington.

I'm not in the market sorry, but that looks a lot of quality motorhome for the money.

We used to run the T1 as vans and bodied in our courier and parcel business in the nineties and even though they were abused they racked up huge miles.

There is a bit more delay as the Mercedes Dealer are now replacing the front sring bushes both sides and a track road end. These were picked up on the MOT. The brake work is finished and it passed the brake test no problem.

All now sorted and new MOT to 28/06/2018. I have given it a good test since the MOT with a run from the North East to Millom in Cumbria 400km round trip with no problems. Speedo now reads 272000km (169000 miles). She is available to view in Darlington.
