started in a minivan 1970's when I could fit into it.
I notice on mobile.de campers are selling briskly, saved a few in my garage and noticed a lot are no longer available,so first thing after deciding which one to go for make sure they'll hold it for you but also have some others to fall back on,its not cheap going over on a wasted journey.Just a few things :
I used a toggle sim for germany setup for data and phone,booking.com for cheap hotels and picked up a hire car at the airport which could be dropped off at numerous other depots.I presume you may be paying cash but just in case I used hifx for transferring pounds to euros. There are other options, best of luck (y)

Thanks gents. Leftlegger, thanks for the tips on travel and money transfer. Toggle sim? would that be a second (German) sim in your mobile phone?

You'd need an unlocked phone to simply put in a toggle sim when needed. It's cheaper to get one on ebay than the toggle site, then register it on the toggle site for the countries you're visiting this will give you a local german number, you'll get a message to setup the apn so that you get data.I,m still able to use mine in spain over a year later, using a local spain number.

Thanks again Leftlegger, I will sort that today, I have an unlocked dual sim phone so that should be simple enough. I had never heard of toggle sims so you have given me some info I never knew about.
