We have inherited this van and I would be interested to know its value. It has 45,000 miles, loads of service history and I have just spent £1000 getting it through its mot. I cannot find any similar vans for sale so any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Since 1996, had Elddis/Swift/Rapido/Rimor/Chausson MHs. Autocruise/Globecar PVCs/Compactline i-138
Elddis 300 if I'm not mistaken ... love them! Best bet would be to get in touch with the Classic Camper club - if you intend to keep it they will more than likely be able to put you in touch with an insurer so you can get an 'agreed value' policy so if anything happens to it that's the payout you'd get, not like you get with more modern vans where the value is based on the 'book' value at the time!

Its a bit of a rarity being an Elddis A class, not many survive. If its dry and damp free and clean, tidy and original inside I'd suggest anywhere from £6K to £16K depending on where you advertise it and when. This time of year motorhomes do fetch higher prices than in October for example. The lack of damp is crucial to getting best price so either have a damp check carried out or buy a damp meter and prove it for yourself and any prospective purchaser.

Thanks for your replys. There is no damp at all and everything inside works well. Where would you advise to advertise it.

On and off for many years.
Gumtree, Preloved or one of the specialist motorhome magazines for a start - or as Bill says, our own classified.

Be prepared for some time-wasters.

If the "buyer" wants to buy unseen as they are in the forces or off shore or have some other improbable story then just block their number.

Direct bank transfer is the only way to be paid - go to the bank and watch the transfer take place. A genuine buyer will be more than happy to do that.

lol.

After a couple more posts he'll have to pay or be "read only" anyway. Seriously though @1988 camper the £10 subscription fee is worth it as people might want to contact you directly.

Don't you wish you'd had your number blocked?

At least you did go and see the van and not offer to pay full price in advance van unseen as the usual story...... Selling and buying vehicles is a nightmare.
