1500W inverter (1 Viewer)

Hi. Once I fit my solar panels I want to get a 1500W inverter. Modified sine wave is OK because I am only using it for wife's 1200W hair dryer (once every 3 days or so) and recharging bike batteries. AS bikes have told me modified is fine for their charger. Everything else electric or electronic I use I have 12v adaptors for.

I have seen a 1500W Jago SWAND01 inverter on Amazon for £80 including delivery. Seems to be a German company, although I suspect they will still be made in China. Anybody ever used one and if so is it any good please?

Hi. Try Sterling power based in Worcestershire. Modified or pure sine wave inverters. We have a 1800watt pure sine wave on the motorhome. Plus 150watt solar panel on roof. (2 domestic batteries). We think 1800 is a bit over the top though. :thumb::thumb::thumb:

Thanks but the problem is that Sterling's modified sine wave inverter (which I think is what they call quasisinewave) costs over 3 times as much as the Drago unit. I could maybe justify that sort of cost if I was using it heavily every day but I am not. Probably once every three days for 10 - 15 minutes with the hairdryer, and maybe once a week for three hours or so for the bike batteries. And then only when we used the motorhome (we are nowhere near full timers) and when not on EHU.

And the other problem is that it is just too large (by 10mm) for the gap I have next to my batteries to fit the inverter.

After I posted I discovered that Jago also advertise on fleabay, and the 1500W one is a bit cheaper than Amazon at £75

Oh.. and the pure sine wave one is over £700

It does seem very cheap, there are lots available around £150. The seller does not seem very knowledgeable about his product, as he describes it as 'sinus'

There are several on fleabay/Amazon for around the £85 mark, but the Jago ones looks more robust to me. The company is German and Sinus is the German for sine. Simple mistake I suspect and their English seems much better than my German.

But they are certainly not specialists in inverters. They seem to sell general house and outdoor leisure stuff. According to their ebay listing the unit is delivered from a logistics centre in the UK, which is logical.

Looking at their ebay rating they have got several positive ratings from people who have bought inverters from them.

I was just hoping that somebody on here may have bought one of these and know a bit about them.
