Has anyone tried this, rather than run my new LG22TK410V TV which I bought from Argos, ( lot cheaper & better picture & sound than most 12v tv's) off my DC to AC invertor which works fine, looking at the output of the tv power supply the output is 19v DC, I'm assuming that this is the max stable DC voltage for the TV.

The electrician in me is thinking I could run this off my satellite circuit with a fuse holder & some wiring as this will also be stable, but 12v not 19v.

Or shall I play it safe & buy a new psu with a cigarette lighter attached?

Has anyone out there tried this?

Thanks

I would say it's a stabilised 19v to power a 19v TV.
I haven't seen a TV power supply with an upper and lower output voltage.
Power suppliers are designed to stabilise the output of an otherwise unstable input voltage.
There could be as much as 30 or 40volts tolerance on some 230v supplies.

It's unlikely to work off 12v if designed for 19v - 10% either way is usually OK. There should be plenty of 12v to 19v supplies available as it's the voltage required by several makes of laptop computer.

Thanks for the replies, i will get my multi meter out tomorrow and check what dc voltage the psu gives.

Thanks

Yep its 19v from the psu, guess i will need to get a cigarette lighter psu, still a lot cheaper than avtex
