Adding 12v Slide-Out Step for Driver's Door (1 Viewer)

I'm struggling to get into driver cab. Need a Tule slide out step 12v to be fitted to doorway, and to ignition to be sure it slides away before travelling, same as habitation door step.

It would help if you told us what motorhome you have and what the base vehicle is. Personally I don't like auto retracting steps, I would put a buzzer on it with a switch on the dash to retract manually.

It's an Autoquest on a Peugeot chassis. I've been told by Coach built GB there isn't enough space for the step. But they gave me PWS engineering, who make running boards which may do the job, so I've contacted them.

Yes fixed running boards each side might be better. My friend has them on his Autocruise Peoneer-

I saw running boards on a taxi the other day. It used to be the law that nothing could protude wider than the wheel arches, didn’t it? (I have been known to be wrong though! ? )

Mine has a buzzer on if engine started when step is out.

Newest problem. The catch that holds the door open is not doing its job. I alread replaced the original. Now want to put on a sprint clip. But holes are not same place. Is it ok to drill into the van side without knowing what's behind the metal plating. The catch comes with screws.

It is (in that area) but do you really want more holes?

You need to fix into something behind the panel. If you don't it will just pull out of the panel as they are only thin Aluminum / Fibreglass.
