Just seen some nice led strip lights( ones that fit I under kitchen units) as they are 12v assume they’d work in my van as I’ve got old strip light type.

Check the voltage spec. Ideally they need to be a few volts above and below 12v.
Chances are they will be designed to run on a voltage stabilised power supply.

I bought some from maplins . They are still working after 5 years. With no problems . We brought some spare ,still in the bag they came in. I know they do not have shops anymore but they are still on line.

You could just replace the original tube with LED strip and keep the original light casing.

I put some LED tape in our wardrobe and it's been ok on the charger voltage. Once it got left on for 2 weeks ?

Was going to just replace bulbs originally but wanted something more modern looking?

You can buy multi strips at the moment from Lidl (3 strips in each ) either 12 inches roughly or 18 inches roughly. Buy them and do away with the transformer. Great kits.
ps. That’s in spain/Portugal. I suppose they’ll do them back home aswell.

I have 2 of the Lidl units fired and did as in mark49 post .
they come in for sale periodically around £8 or that was when I bought a year or two back.
One in the main hab area and one above the rear bed .
Both very bright when needed

I did that, with a great result. Remember to by-pass the transformer though and just connect them to the 12v pos and negative.
