Has anyone ever used one of these instead of a mega fuse?
I need to install my inverter in the new van and in the past I’ve used a mega fuse but these are about the same price and if it trips it’s just a reset.
In the past I’ve always made up the cables but I’ve seen some car battery terminal cables 30” for £7.50 each 110amp, I’m assuming the 110a is a constant?

What do you think about all the above?

Thanks

Members have had problems with them tripping before the rated current is reached also one recently was getting hot 😬 they aren't made to any kind of standard... Actually maybe Chinese standard 😊, I'd avoid and fit a quality midi fuse.

Use a midi / mega fuse. There are reports of these circuit breakers being of poor quality and arcing. Circuit breakers can be a Potential fire risk

I would Make up your own cables with cables of good quality from reputable supplier.

I was told to avoid starter cables. Built to take lots of current for a short period, not over a long time.

I have used circuit breakers without problem, however there might be some dodgy ones around. They are useful in circuits you may need to switch off, just press the button.

I've got some of the breakers and they re on my list for replacement ( preferably with non chinese items) because the quality is a bit suspect.

How thick the cable between battery and inverter is will depend on the run, Does your inverter instruction not have a table for it?

There's two different problems with high power 12V cables - safety (heating) and voltage drop. A cable running at just below its safety limit will be safe, but the voltage drop will be a real problem. It's best to use a voltage drop table/app like this app to keep the voltage drop to 3% or less. It will then also be well within any safety limits.

Breakers are fine, but not the cheap ones!
