12 Volt Tv’s

is there anything I should be wary of when looking for the above. If I google 12volt Tvs, I get search results showing me sets from maybe 150 plus pounds. A cursory look in a dealers stock yesterday and I noted prices north of £400. what’s the difference?
Any advice gratefully received, also what is the maximum practical size or limit that 24volt gives you.

Hi have a look at Cello Traveller TV,s for place to Start, we have 2 a 19" with Freeview built in and a 22" with Freeview and FreeSat Built in, and have had no problems with them,

You could fit an inverter for £80 and have the whole range of 220v high spec, smart TV's for little money.

An inverter is reckoned to pull 10% more current than a 12v appliance. Mostly for the cooling fan I'd guess.

We bought ours from Aldi a couple of years ago, it’s been fine - 22” with built in DVD for £125!

I would shop around and just buy the cheapest.

I bought a Cello Traveller directly off Cello who make them in the North East of England. They have an Ebay shop, which is where I bought it from. Has served us well for the 4 years plus which we have had it. If you are going to France make sure you get one with an HD tuner (not just HD ready) otherwise you will not be able to pick up any terrestrial stations.

Hi we have a "Cello". Which I got from a Market, must be about 4 to 5 years ago now. The sound could be better, I fitted a sound bar recently, And the one thing I notice is the viewing angle could be better. I run a sky HD box to it from the "Camos". So far so Good.

Have a think about what you're going to use as an input if you're going to use a firestick there's no point getting one with Freesat.

The older Cellos were known for having poor sound and viewing angles. But I think they solved it a few years ago. Certainly our 4 year old one is Ok with both.

We’ve got an Avtex 19” works on 12v or the mains.
It has freeview and 2 satalite inputs for free sat plus dvd slot. It will also record 2tv channels if you put a usb thumb drive in it.
Wasn’t cheap but apparently TVs made for the leisure market are toughened to take the rigours of our British roads.
As TVs are pretty cheap nowadays if you break a supermarket tv just buy another one.
All TVs these days have transformers so if you take the back off you could probably convert it to work on 12v.
