Looking to buy
Hi everyone , after jacking up the wheels on my van this morning with the standard scissor jack, I wondered if a 12 volt electric model would make life easier ? They are available on line , wondered if anyone had any thoughts or recommendations? Thanks.

There is one in my garage but it’s rated at 1 ton and it’s useless so it’s staying there.

Surely thats only one corner of a four tonne vehicle?
I wouldn't use it to jack a whole side up, but I think it'd lift a wheel for a puncture change?

If I'm missing something, it wouldn't be the first time though

It’s rated at 1 ton but I tried it once and it was no good.

………Does that mean that if I stand on the bathroom scales, and raise one leg, I’ll only weigh 8 stone? 😉🤣

You can get these which bolt to your scissor Jack and allow you to use a drill, wheel brace etc on the Jack rather than those horrible handles

Something else to go wrong..Its not something that is used very often..If you drive the wheel you need to change up a levelling ramp you only have to raise it a quarter of an inch and then remove ramp..BUSBY.

Just by a 5 ton bottle jack . That said i did the brake pads on my citroen relay with the scissor jack supplied no problem.

Thanks for all the replies guys , some good ideas , thanks.

I tried a electric scissor jack the drive spindle was made out of cheap metal and not fit for purpose I now have a electric hydraulic jack tried it a couple of times but the proof will be in the pudding when used in earnest
