Hi, just got our new van which has 12 volt sockets for tv's ect. When I look at the Avtex tv 12 volt plug it's much larger than the socket sizes fitted to the van. I expected a 2 year Avtex tv to have the relevant size plug for these sockets? Am I being a bit dumb?

Thanks all.

not long enough
Or is it that your MH sockets are too small o_O

You can get adaptors from one size to the other on short leads for not much money (y)

Remove the crap cig lighter plug from the TV (noting which wire is center contact.. CRITICAL) and fit a HELLA DIN plug... About a fiver on ebay.
VERY easy to fit, only need a small screwdriver, and they are far superior having a click lock contact with the socket unlike the cig plugs which work loose and overheat.

The van will have a Hella/Din style socket. Smaller than cig socket and used on motorbikes, in trucks, boats and lots of continental motorhomes. Much more secure and tighter fitting.
Plugs and adaptors easily available online or via eBay. Change the plug on TV is best move otherwise just use an adaptor.
Pity your not here at soul meet I found a few yesterday.

Thanks very much for all the info. I’m sure I’ll sort it out one way or another!
