Any recommendations for a 12 v submersible pump, plenty on E-bay/Amazon cheap enough but with mixed reviews. Just need to be able to transfer water from container to moho tank.

I use one of these for transferring water from the container and it does a good job.
I use the same pump. I just drop it in the tank and push the hose in to the water filler of the mh. I increased the length of the elec cable and put a cig plug on it so I just plug it in to the 12V skt on dashboard. Simple but has worked for many years.

I use a Seaflo submersible pump for this. Very cheap. Good flow rate. I was impressed enough to buy a bilge pump for my underslung shower waste transfer tank (this transfers the shower water to the onboard grey tank in the heated part of the vehicle). I probably overspecced that one. It only goes on for about half a second every 10 seconds when taking a shower, but was also cheap with built in float switch.

Sorry to state the obvious, but check that the pump fits through the container hole. And don't ask how I know:(
Good point. I know the Whale GP1002 fits through the hole on on a Leisurewize 51L Water Hog.

Good point I have ordered the Whale GP1002 and it's 36mm Dia so should be ok for my water carrier, I think.

I used this from Amazon to replace the one meant to be with a Compass motorhome (but lost or kept by a previous owner).

Our Compass Avantgarde has a 12v socket on the outside handy to power the pump - but takes the slimmer power jack.

What size pipe are people using, does the 10mm or 13mm make much difference?

I have one of the Whale pumps linked to above. It is connected to my main tap. I found the flow rate much too fast for the tap. It came out at such a speed to wash your hands or fill a cup with water meant splashing all over the worktop. I ended up fitting a cheap device that wires into the power supply to the pump and reduces it from 12V to 5V. Now turning on the tap is a less tsunami like event. For filling your water tank this may not be an issue, but if it is this option is a cheap and easy fix.
