Went to Tesco yesterday and got a nice surprise ... a voucher for 10p off per litre of fuel! (y)

You have to spend £60 or more to get it (I'd just spent over that fortunately!) so this will come in handy to top the camper up before we go away.

You haven't got too long, it's not as generous time wise as previous discounts!
Wasn't worth me trying to spend enough to fill me smartie, and the van is always topped up esp. in winter

That’s a separate offer. The 10p off a litre is an extra offer when you spend over £60. We get the points put on our Tesco club card, so we still get the 3 x voucher value. Add to that, we pay with Santander credit card so it works out at almost 15p off per litre!

We have "Scan as you Shop" here in deepest rural Norfolk, so the device displays the total as we go round. I've raised the spend from £58.62 to £60.28 to ensure we get the vouchers (2 so far (y) )

Unfortunately, having run the tank to almost empty, I then "paid at pump" and couldn't use the first voucher [due to expire on 9th Feb]. Fortunately the till operator was prepared to swop my voucher for one which expires on 25th Feb (but will I get through 2 tanks full in that time? )

In Eastbourne they have closed the fuel station for 'improvements. Luckily it opens a couple of days before my coupon runs out. So will fill up the land rover next Sunday. The mh is kept full but we ain't going anywhere.

They had that offer in Wales where we were, but there is no way of telling it to the fully automated station that you had bought anything ,the pumps were all card only , like most in Spain are.

Hi Steve- should have written extra 3% with Santander credit card at petrol stations, but with Tesco stations we claim the points with the Tesco card, so they are worth 3x on the tunnel, and then we pay with the Santander card, so also get the 3% on top of that. Cliff says that works out at almost 6p off. I don't understand it, so no more questions please... (y)

PS glad you're home safe, and hope you had a good time!

I've just filled up just before we go away, saving £6.90, but shall need another fill up before we get to Folkestone. I don't intend to spend another £60 before then, but you never know. And the Tesco vouchers almost paid for the crossing. When are you travelling, Mel?

I usually fill up AFTER crossing the channel (although that prevents me getting Tesco points) :)

So did I when the pound was stronger. It's pretty much parity for fuel now, and when you add the cost of converting the Euro, it's cheaper here. Much rather get the miles in down to the south ASAP.

We're gonna fill up about 20 miles North of Eurotunnel at Willesborough:

https://www.tesco.com/store-locator/uk/?bID=2031

There is another one on the opposite side of the motorway/A20 near to ET but it's a bit of a prat to get to so for the small difference it will make in savings its not worth the hassle.

This top-up should then see us into Spain before we need to fill up again as we've got the lovely big 120L fuel tank! :p Crossing on Sunday tea-time ... can't wait! (y)

Wow, you've got a big one!

We are following a few days later. Are you going thru / around Paris or down the western side? After a few horrendous Paris traffic jams we've given up with that, and generally go Rouen etc. I think this migh tbe a bump

Western side AFAIK ... hubby's been doing the planning and the last route he showed me was that way ... but until we set off it's anyone's guess! Sunday night's stop should be at Wimereux all being well (nice big quiet car park set between all the holiday flats etc, easy to get to and park up) with a little potter along the seafront before tea and bed hopefully.

That's it, all the planning beforehand and then decide to turn left instead of right out of the terminal. Our first stop should be somewhere before Rouen, should get there before 18.00, then next day as far south as poss. Likewise, can't wait!!

We got one yesterday which will be good as the tank in the MH is fairly low - much better than topping up the car :)
2 weeks to use it.
